Create a new template
- Click New... in the Template List window. The Enter New Template details window appears.
- Enter the name of the new template in the Name box and click OK. The Template List window appears with your new template showing at the bottom of the list.
- Highlight your new template and click Edit. The Template Editor opens.
- Select the file that you want to learn from in the Sample filename section at the bottom of the window.
- Open the accounts file that you are learning from in Wordpad.
- Only the Codes, Narrative and Tax Return Groups are transferred from the sample file to the new template. Before you do this you must correctly set the Field positions, Code Mask, File type and Credits denoted by sections.
- When you have entered all of the required information, click Learn. The Code Analysis window opens.
- If Tax Return Groups were not included in the sample file you will need to manually assign each code to a group.
- Check through the new template in the Code Analysis window and ensure that the required information has been successfully entered. Click OK.
- Your new template is now complete. Click OK on the Template Editor to close the window. Your template appears in the Template List.
