Determining the code mask

You need to identify what format the codes in the sample file that you are learning from are in. All of the codes in the file should be in the same format e.g. three numbers in length with no spaces.

  1. Remember one of the numbers from the column of codes and open the Import Template Editor.
  2. Click Mask. The Code Mask window opens.
  3. Enter the code that you have memorised in the Test mask box.

  4. Enter the correct mask in the Code mask box using the Codes Mask Key e.g. if the code is three numbers in length with no spaces, enter NNN.

  1. When the code and the code mask that you have entered match each other, Yes will appear in the Is test valid? box. You have now successfully determined what the code mask is.
  2. Click OK to return to the Import Template Editor window.
