What is a Date and Deadline?
A Date and deadline is a way of entering and recording dates and setting time-based deadlines for clients. There are two stages in the creation of a Date and deadline:
You create a Date type and assign it to clients via the Add New Date Wizard
then you fill in the details for a client that it has been assigned to using the Date form.
Example
You could create the Date and deadline type Latest statement of account, apply it to all clients who are Individuals, choose Fixed as the period type, make the date an Action and make Clear the default value. Mr. Paul Barton, an individual, now has the Date and deadline type Latest statement of account available when Fixed is selected in the Show for box. When you first open the Date form no date is set because you chose Clear as the default value. You enter when the latest Statement of account was sent to Mr. Barton.
