Company lookup

Use this window to select the company that issued the securities to the client. The list contains the names of all companies that are in Interactive Data. The name of the company that you select is automatically inserted in the Company name box on the data entry page that you are entering details in e.g. Dividends from UK companies.

When you select a company from the list, information may also be automatically entered in the ISIN code and Security description boxes on the data entry page. This depends upon the following:

• if there is only one security available for the company in Interactive Data, the ISIN code and the description of the security are automatically entered in the data entry page.
• if there is more than one security available for the company, the ISIN code and Security description boxes are left blank. You should then use the Security Lookup window to select exactly which security was issued to the client.

 

You can quickly find a company in the list by typing in the first few letters of its name in the Company name box e.g. type Brit to find the first company in the list that begins with those four letters. You can also use the scroll bar at the side of the window to quickly move through the list. Select the Select button when the company that you are looking for is shown in the Company name box.
