Import Accounts Data

You can import data from several accounts production packages to the correct areas of the Personal Tax forms. This eliminates the need to reenter data and will save you time.

The process is the same that's used in the rest of Sage Taxation.

What data is imported?

You can import nominal balances (income and expenditure accounts only or the full trial balance) or pre-summarised figures ready for the Tax Return. When nominal balances are imported, the import process will allocate these to the Tax Return headings.

Templates provided with Sage Taxation manage the allocation of balances during the import.

What packages can I import from?

Data can be imported from almost any accounts or spreadsheet package.

Importing from Sage Accounts Production Advanced and Sage Accounts Production is especially convenient because these products export the figures in a ready format for importing.

What about non-Sage products?

Many pieces of software can export a trial balance to a spreadsheet. This can then prepare a CSV file that can be used by the accounts import. Templates included with Sage Taxation can map the nominal balances to the Tax Return headings.

Can Sage Taxation import from DOS programs?

Even old DOS programs with no obvious export options often have a 'Spool a printout' or 'Print to disk' option. This can create an ASCII file that can be imported.
