Annual Data Navigator Pop-up Menu

You can access this menu in the following ways:

  • highlight the name of a folder or page in the Annual Data Navigator and click the menu mouse button once
  • highlight the name of a folder or page in the Annual Data Navigator and press Shift and F10 at the same time
  • highlight the name of a folder or page in the Annual Data Navigator and, on Windows keyboards only, you can press the Context Menu key. This is located in the bottom right-hand corner of the keyboard between the Windows and Ctrl keys

The menu has the following options:

Open - Opens the folder that is highlighted in the Annual Data Navigator and displays every folder/page that it contains. This is the same as clicking the icon.

New - Creates a new instance of the data entry page that is currently highlighted in the Annual Data Navigator.

Trim - Hides all of the folders in the Annual Data Navigator that do not contain any data.

Untrim - Displays all of the folders in the Annual Data Navigator, regardless of whether or not they contain any data.

Delete - Deletes the data entry page that is currently highlighted in the Annual Data Navigator. You are asked to confirm whether you want to delete the page or not.

It is important to note that the data entry item will be deleted for all years that it exists for, not just the tax year that you are currently in. For example, if an Employment exists in 1996/97, 1997/98 and 1998/99 and you delete the item for 1997/98, that item will also be deleted for the other two tax years.

If you do not want the data entry item to exist in a particular tax year then you should open that item and change its Start or End date. This will automatically delete the item in the years for which it is no longer applicable.

Section update - Opens the Section Update window, which allows you to copy data that has been entered in a particular data entry page for the currently selected client forwards or backwards into a different tax year.

Questionnaire - Opens the Questionnaire window, which allows you to enable or disable each item in the Annual Data Navigator.

Note: A different pop-up menu appears if the page that is highlighted in the Annual Data Navigator is a Computations page.
