Use this section to set the position and length of the various fields in the file to be imported. You should only change the field positions if you are creating a new template. Do not alter the values if a standard, Sage supplied template is currently selected.
This column is displayed if CSV is selected in the File type options box. With a CSV file, all that is required is the field number.
The number in the column for each of the fields refers to the particular column in which the information for that field appears if the file is viewed in a spreadsheet package.
This is displayed if Fixed is selected in the File type options box. In the case of fixed width files, two pieces of information are required; the start position and the length of each field.
This is the number of characters from the left-hand margin when the file is opened in a text-viewing program such as Wordpad. The number determines the starting position of the particular field e.g. if Code had a Start value of 11, the information that appears for that field would be positioned 11 characters from the left of the file.
This is the number of characters, including spaces, which each instance of the particular field is constituted of when viewing the file through a text-viewing program such as Wordpad .
Open the Code Mask window, which you can use to define the formatting of the Codes used in the import file.
