Click the down arrow next to the Fields box. The options you are displayed
with here are the same options as were available on the previous screen.
You access the information in the folders in the same way by clicking
on the icon to open the folder to the next level. You can
select any field within this list.
Note: The fields you select to filter your options by do not need to have been selected for display on the report.
The field you select on which to filter your report will determine the conditions that are made available to you. In most cases the list of conditions will be as follows:
- Equal to (=)
- Less than (<)
- Less than or equal to (<=)
- Greater than (>)
- Greater than or equal to (>=)
- Not equal to (<>)
- Between
- Blank
- Not Blank
Once you have selected the conditions for your filter you will need to enter a value to satisfy that condition. This should be entered in the Value box.
- In most cases there will be a need for just one value to be entered.
- For some conditions, such as the Between option, another Value field will be made available to enter a maximum and minimum value.
- For certain selections the only option available will be Yes or No. In this case the condition will default to ‘Equal to (=)’ and yes and No options will appear.
- If you select either the Blank or Not Blank option then you will not need to enter a value.
- Once you are happy with the filter conditions that you have set, click the Add button. This will add the filter condition to the window that display all the filter conditions currently applied for this report. You can add as many different filter conditions as you like in order to define your report output specifically to your requirements.
To edit or remove a filter condition, highlight the detail in the lower window and select either the Edit or Remove button. Remove will clear the condition from your selection completely. Clicking the Edit button will populate the boxes above the window with your choices so that you can make changes as you see necessary.
Once you are happy with the filter conditions that you have set for your report and they are all displayed in the main window click Next to continue to Step 3 of the wizard.
