Generate Letters Using Microsoft Word
The Letter Generator can automatically generate letters for specified clients if you have Word 2000, Word 97, Word 7.0 or Word 6.0 installed on your computer.
- Select the Letters icon from the toolbar to open the Letter Generator.
- Click on the letter type that you wish to generate with the select mouse button and select the OK button.
- In the Letter Options window, if you have more than one version of Word installed, select the one you wish to use to generate the letters.
Note: If you are generating a User letter type, you must generate it using the version of Word that you used to create it.
- You must now select the clients for whom you wish to generate this letter. There are four ways in which you can do this:
- select clients from a list
- generate letters for all clients of client types applicable to this letter
- generate a letter for the currently selected client
- generate letters for all clients who are included in a specified report
Tips
To view the properties for any letter type, click on the letter type
with the select mouse button, then select the button on
the toolbar in the Select Letter window.
This will show you which client types the letter type is applicable to
and which fields will be included in the letter.
If the letter is a User letter type, you can change these properties.
