Billing and subscription FAQ
If you’ve ever wondered about how or why you’re charged for your service, then this article answers the most common questions our support team receive.
You are charged right away for the first month. For subsequent months, you will be charged on the same day of the month as when you subscribed.
After your first payment is processed, you will be emailed an invoice. For subsequent months, you will be emailed an order confirmation on the bill date.
You may need to update your credit card information in your account for a variety of reasons:

One or more of your subscription payments failed

Your card on file expired, and you would like to replace it

You would like to use a different card for various other reasons
Updating your card for any of these reasons requires that you replace and re-enter the card info in your account. This applies even in the case of a failed payment where you would like to continue use of the same credit card.
In the event of a failed payment, your credit card will not be charged again until you re-enter the card information using the following steps.
These steps apply to

Select your business name and then Manage Business Account.

On the Business Management page, select Payment Method and then Manage My Payment Methods.

On the Your subscriptions page, select Edit billing information.

On the Billing information page, select Use a different card.

On the Billing information page with the sub-heading Use a different card, re-enter your card information and Save.
Sage will not charge your card immediately when you change or re-enter your payment method. It will be charged during one of the daily pay runs.
If you canceled your subscription before the end of the current month and you are on a monthly service plan, you won’t be charged for the following month. If you cancel at the beginning of a month, you will be charged for that month but not the following.
If you have an annual plan and you cancel before the end of the current year, you won’t be charged for the following year. If you cancel at the beginning of the year, you will be charged for the current year but not the following year.
