Common errors in bank feeds
To help you to resolve any bank feed errors you might receive, we’ve gathered together the most common errors and the solutions.If the error code isn’t listed, please follow the general troubleshooting steps to check if the feed is working, or not. If this doesn’t resolve your issue, please visit Sage Support.

We do not recommend disconnecting the bank feed, as this can result in missing transactions.
General troubleshooting
- If you’re not receiving any new feeds, they could be delayed. After 15 minutes you can refresh your bank feed to check for new transactions.
- Log in to your online banking service to confirm your password and security information is correct and that you’ve entered the same information in Accounting.
- Log in to your online banking service to check that there are no outstanding changes to the terms and conditions that you must accept, including outstanding messages.
- Check that the details you have entered into the bank feeds setup are now correct.
Error code 402
When you link to your online bank account, the drop-down list of bank accounts doesn’t appear and an error appears:
“We are having some technical difficulties. Please try again (Error 402)”.
Reasons
If your PC, laptop or iPad settings are blocking cookies from other websites, including Sage.
If the bank feed can’t link to your online bank account, as it doesn’t recognize your password or security information.
Solution
- You should allow cookies from other websites and then link to your online bank account again. For more information on how to allow cookies, please visit the relevant website depending on your Internet browser: Safari, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer. If you use any other Internet browser, please refer to your browser help system.
- Check you’ve requested to link to the correct bank account and have entered the correct information into each option when setting up bank feeds.
- Log in to your online banking service to confirm your password and security information is correct and that you’ve entered the same information in Accounting.
- If you have multi-factor authentication, please try again and ensure you enter the requested security information.
Error code 403
Reasons
This relates to an incompatibility between your online bank and the Bank feed service. It can also happen if there are temporary issues, such as the website pages being very slow.
Solution
- You should allow cookies from other websites and then link to your online bank account again. For more information on how to allow cookies, please visit the relevant website depending on your Internet browser: Safari, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer. If you use any other Internet browser, please refer to your browser help system.
- Check you’ve requested to link to the correct bank account and have entered the correct information into each option when setting up bank feeds.
- Log in to your online banking service to confirm your password and security information is correct and that you’ve entered the same information in Accounting.
- If you have multi-factor authentication, please try again and ensure you enter the requested security information.
Error code 406
Reason
You tried to download transactions but your online banking password or security information has expired. Or, if a bank amends its terms and conditions and you have to accept them before you can have access.
Solution
- Log in to your online banking service to confirm your password and security information is correct and that you’ve entered the same information in Accounting.
- Log in to your online banking service to check that there are no outstanding changes to the terms and conditions that you must accept, including outstanding messages.
- Check that the details you have entered into the bank feeds setup are now correct.
Error code 407
Reason
You tried to download transactions, but your online bank account is locked, or your online banking service provider maybe doing some website maintenance.
Solution
- Try to log in to your online banking website to confirm it’s available.
- If your account is locked, please contact your bank and follow their procedures for unlocking your account, then retry the bank feed.
Error code 414
Reason
If your PC, laptop or iPad settings are blocking cookies from other websites, including Sage, this error can appear when you link your Sage service to your online banking service.
Solution
- You should allow cookies from other websites and then link to your online bank account again. For more information on how to allow cookies, please visit the relevant website depending on your Internet browser: Safari, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer. If you use any other Internet browser, please refer to your browser help system.
Error code 415
Reason
Your request cannot be completed due to technical difficulties at the site. The bank feed through Yodlee is unable to connect to your bank account. There can be a number of reasons for this, but is generally temporary and resolved in a few days.
Solution
We recommend you try again the following day, but you can choose to refresh your feed sooner.
Error code 416
Reason
Your request cannot be completed as another session was already established at the same time.
This may be because:
- Someone is already linked to your online banking service, for example in another web browser.
- You have tried to refresh your feed while someone else is logged into your online banking website.
- A refresh is already in progress.
Some online banking service providers may not consider you properly logged off if you have just closed the website browser.
Solution
- You should log in to your online banking website and ensure you have completely logged out of your service.
- Sign out from your Sage service, log back in and retry your bank feed.
Error code 421
Reason
Your request cannot be completed as the language setting for your account is not English.
Solution
Online banking websites that are in a foreign language are not currently supported.
Error code 422
Reason
Your request cannot be completed as your account has been closed or cancelled. This error appears if there is an explicit message from your online banking service provider that your account has been closed or cancelled. You can’t retrieve statement information and transactions from a closed bank account.
Solution
- Check if your account is closed, log in to your online banking service and check you’re able to access your account.
Error code 424
Reason
Your request cannot be completed as the information for your account was unavailable. The bank feed through Yodlee is unable to connect to your bank account. There can be a number of reasons for this, but is generally temporary and resolved in a few days.
Solution
We recommend you try again the following day, but you can choose to refresh your feed sooner.
Error code 426
Reason
Your request cannot be completed due to technical difficulties. The bank feed through Yodlee is unable to connect to your bank account. There can be a number of reasons for this, but is generally temporary and resolved in a few days.
Solution
We recommend you try again the following day, but you can choose to refresh your feed sooner.
Error code 429
Reason
Your request cannot be completed as the site requires you to verify your personal information. Some banks require you to maintain up to date personal information and passwords for security purposes.
Solution
- Log in to your online banking service and check your details are up to date or need to be updated.
- Re-try the bank feed.
Error code 481
Reason
Your request cannot be completed due to security reasons. Your bank may limit the number of unsuccessful log in attempts in one day and means a number of unsuccessful attempts have been made to connect to your bank in a 24 hour period.
Solution
- Log in to your online banking service to confirm that you have access and your password and security information is correct
- Check you’ve entered the same password and security information in Accounting.
- Re-try again the following day.
Error code 505
Reason
Your request can’t be completed as the security system used by the site is not supported.
Solution
You should check that your bank or credit card account is available via this service.
Error code 507
Reason
Your request can’t be completed due to the problem in updating the beta account. When constructing a new bank feed, it is put through a beta test stage by Yodlee, during which time users will probably not be able to make a successful connection.
