Add Tasks

This window enables you to enter new tasks into the system.

The details you can enter for a task are:

Assign to - This field will default to the name of the staff member that is currently logged into the system. You can select to assign the task to another staff member either by:

  • editing the user code - type in a new code. When the code is recognised as a valid system user code the full name will be displayed.
  • selecting a user from the list - clicking on the magnifying glass icon will present a list of all users available within the system. Highlight a user name and either double click on it with the mouse of click on Select.

 

Client - If a client name is currently highlighted within the client list in Control Centre, or a client is currently selected within a tax product, then this field will default to show the name of that client. You can select to assign the task to another client either by:

  • editing the client code - type in a new code. When the code is recognised as a valid client code the full name will be displayed.
  • selecting a client from the list - clicking on the magnifying glass icon will present a list of all clients available within the system. Highlight a client name and either double click on it with the mouse of click on Select.

 

Subject - Enter in this field a brief description of the task. The details you enter here will show as the summary detail within the tasks screen.

Due Date - Enter here a deadline for the task. The date should be in the format dd/mm/yyyy. The due date will affect the way the summary of the tasks is displayed. See Task List for more information on this.

Status - You can select a status for the task from the drop down list. The available options to choose from are:

  • Not Started
  • In Progress
  • Waiting for Info
  • Deferred
  • Completed

 

Detail - In this box you can enter as much detail about the task as you like. This information will appear in the grey window at the bottom of the tasks screen when the summary line for the task is selected.

Note: A task MUST be assigned to a user or a client. A task can be assigned to both a user and a client, but cannot be assigned to neither.
