A header or footer is text or graphics such as a page number, the date, or a company logo that is usually printed at the top or bottom of each page in a document. A header is printed in the top margin; a footer is printed in the bottom margin.
The header can be set to show 6 different items; 3 on the left and 3 on the right. You can choose what will appear in these sections by choosing from the available drop-down lists.
Your choices for information that can appear in the header are:
- None - Nothing is displayed for the selected part of the header/footer.
- Client Name - The full name of the client e.g. Mr John Abrahams B.A.
- Client Ref - The Client Code e.g. Our Reference: ABR101
- Current Page - The number of the page that you are viewing and the total number of pages e.g. Page 1 of 2
- Date - The current date e.g. 18/02/1998
- Time - The current time e.g. 13:35
- UTR - The client's Unique Tax Reference number e.g. UTR: 3282499350
- Date/Time - The current date and time e.g. 18/02/1998, 13:35
- Staff Member - The name of the user who created the ADQ e.g. Prepared by Mark Goldstein
Your choices for information that can be displayed in the footer are:
- User, date and time - selecting this option will display the name of the current user and the date and time that the ADQ was prepared to the left of the footer
- Draft - selecting this option will print the word 'Draft' in the centre of the footer
- Page number - the page number will be printed to the right of the footer if this option is selected.
Note: There are two rules that the system imposes for headers and footers:
- The Client Name must appear in one of the sections of the header;
- The Current Page / Page Number must appear either in one of the sections of the header, or the footer.
