Datasets

A Dataset is a way of grouping clients together into different categories. The way in which these categories are defined is entirely up to you. You give the dataset any name you choose and you can create as many datasets as you need. In this way you can group your clients in a way which mirrors any method of dividing up clients, which already exists in your practice.

Clients may be grouped into multiple datasets for security, reporting or housekeeping purposes. Before creating multiple datasets, you should consider the implications from the point of view of backing up data and producing control reports. Sage Control Centre offers numerous ways of grouping clients or securing selected data without resorting to multiple datasets. It is normally preferable to use one dataset per practice.

You can create new datasets and edit or delete existing ones in Sage Control Centre. See Control Centre's on-line Help for more details.
