Data Overflow Pages

Data overflow page - Select this button to access an available extra page. You can press Alt + E to select this button using the keyboard. This button is only available when an extra page has been created in a Return/Schedule because of the entry of excess data, which the page of the particular Return/Schedule has no space for. Thus this button is only available when you are using the Tax Return Viewer to view or change the computation of a Return/Schedule. There are two reasons for the creation of excess data:

  • Data overflow

An extra page is created when data that you enter in the Annual Data Navigator fills the standard Tax Return page e.g. if extra boxes were required on Page 1 of the Foreign schedule. The numbering of the pages would be as follows:

  1. A

(the first part of Page 1)

  1. B

(the second part of Page 1)

Selecting the Extra page button when Page 1a is displayed would jump to Page 1b; selecting the Next button would jump to Page 2.

  • Additional Information

An extra page is created when Additional Information that you enter exceeds the equivalent space on the Tax Return. This page is not a copy of the first. It is a special page that only has a memo box, which you can enter Additional Information in. The numbering of the pages would be as follows:

(the second part of Page 1 containing additional information)

Selecting the Extra page button when Page 1 is displayed would jump to Page 1*; selecting the Next button would jump to Page 2.

  • Data-overflow and Additional Information

If both Data-overflow and Additional Information occur on the same page, the numbering of the pages would be as follows:

  1. A

  1. B

(a copy of 1A containing extra data and additional information)

  1. B*

(the special additional information page - see Additional Information above)

Selecting the Extra page button when Page 1 is displayed would jump to Page 1a; selecting it again would jump to Page 1a*. Selecting the Next button when Page 1 is displayed would jump to Page 2.
