Declaration details

Option Description
Name This is the client's full name as entered in their Main Details form.
Address / Postcode This is either the client's full address as entered in their Main Details form or their agent's full address. The latter address is used if the client has decided to use it for all correspondence. You indicate this by selecting the Use agent's address for correspondence check box in their Main Details form.
Date address changed Where the address on the return issued by HMRC is incorrect, enter the date of change.
Select daytime contact telephone number

Select the telephone number that the client wants to appear on their tax return as their daytime contact telephone number. The selected telephone number is defaulted according to the address that is shown on the front of the client's tax return. You can override this default selection if you want to.

    Agent

The agent's telephone number is selected by default if the agent's address is shown on the front of the client's tax return. You decide if the agent's address appears on the return by ticking or leaving blank the Use agent's address for correspondence box on the Main Details page of the client's Main Details form. If this box is ticked the agent's address also appears in the Additional information section of the return.

The agent's telephone number is automatically taken from the Practice Details form for the currently selected dataset. You can access this form by starting Sage Control Centre and clicking the button on the main frame toolbar. You cannot change the agent's telephone number in the Contact Details form.

If you select Client and a telephone number has not been entered for the agent, the system informs you to use the Practice Details form in Control Centre to enter one.

Client

The client's telephone number is selected by default if their address is shown on the front of their tax return. This number is automatically taken from the client's Main Details form. You cannot change it here.

If you select Client and a telephone number has not been entered in the client's Main Details form, the system asks you if you want to enter it now. If you select Yes the client's Main Details form opens. Select the Contact page and enter the number in the Telephone/Day box.
