Validation Errors

The Validation Errors window opens when the currently selected Return has been validated. It displays all errors that exist in the Return according to FBI rules.

The errors are displayed in a table format with the following headings:

• Schedule - The full name of the Schedule in which the error exists e.g. Business & Investment Income.
• Page - The page number on which the error exists e.g. 2.
• Box Number - The number of the box in which the error exists e.g. 3.2.
• Description - A full explanation of the error e.g. Must be Y or N.

Viewing errors

You can view the error that is highlighted in the table by double-clicking the left mouse button anywhere in the row of the error.

The Tax Return Previewer is opened at the location of the particular error e.g. selecting an error that exists in Box 3.2 on Page 2 of the Business & Investment Income schedule opens that page with the box selected.
