Client List

Choose one of the available datasets from the drop-down list. All of the clients that are stored in that dataset are displayed in the Client List.
This enables you to quickly find a client in the list. Type in the first letter of the partnership name or code of the client that you wish to find. The first client whose partnership name or code begins with that letter is highlighted. Typing in more than one letter makes the search more precise e.g. Brai to find Braithwaite.
Select this button to sort the list of clients by their code in descending order. You set this code when you create a new client or edit existing client details.
Select this button to sort the list of clients alphabetically by their partnership names.
The list contains the client's code and name. You access a particular client by highlighting them in the list and double clicking or pressing the Return key.
This is a drop-down list of all tax years for which Returns are available for the currently highlighted client. Choose one Tax Return from the list.
The tax year that you select will become the default for that client and will be automatically selected the next time you open the Client List window or run Partnership Tax. If, however, you choose to view a Tax Return from a different year for that client using the drop-down list on the Tax Return Navigator tool bar, that year will become the default tax year.
Selecting Tools > Year Update when the Client List window has closed opens the Year Update window. This window is used to extend the range of tax years for which Tax Returns are available for the current client. Subsequently, when the Client List window is opened you will be able to choose from the new range of tax years for that client in the Returns for year to 5th April drop-down list.
Opens the Client Counts window, which gives you information about the number of clients that currently exist in Partnership Tax.
Opens the client that is highlighted in the list. You have two available options if you already have a client open in Partnership Tax:
- you can close the client that is already open and open the one that you have just selected in the Client List
or
- you can run another instance of the application so that there are two instances of Partnership Tax running at the same time on your computer with a different client open in each of them
If you select this button when the Client
List initially appears (e.g. when you first run Partnership
Tax) you are taken into the system without a selected client. You
can open a client by selecting File Þ Open or by selecting the button on the Main toolbar.
Creates a new client via the Add New Partnership Wizard.
Deletes the highlighted client and their details within the Partnership Tax system. Only the Administrator can delete a client; therefore you will be asked for a password before the client is deleted. The client will still be available in Control Centre if you delete it from here. You can only delete the client from the entire Sage Taxation database using Control Centre.
You cannot delete a client who is currently open in Partnership Tax. You must close the client before you can delete them.
If you wish to use a client who has been previously deleted from Partnership Tax but is still available in Control Centre then you must use the Partnership Tax page on their Main Details form in Control Centre to set them up again.
