Change the Font Used on the Tax Return
You can change the font that is used to display and enter data into boxes on the Tax Return. You can also change the style, size and colour of the font.
- To change the font, click on this button
on the Tax Return Previewer toolbar.
- The Font window opens.
-
Choose a font from the Font list.
Note: Only TrueType fonts can be selected, since these are scaled accurately when the Tax Return is resized on the screen. Bitmap fonts, such as MS Sans Serif are not available since they do not scale properly. This symbol -
- indicates a TrueType font.
- Choose a Font style and Size.
- Choose a colour for the font from the Color drop-down list.
-
If you like you can choose to underline or strike through the text by ticking the Underline or Strikethrough tick boxes.
Tip: Fonts themselves can vary in size. One font may be tiny and unreadable at a size of 10 pts whilst others may be quite large. 12 pts is a good size for many fonts for the Tax Return, such as Arial or Times New Roman. But always check to make sure that the font and size that you select fits properly into the boxes on the Return.
Also, remember that whether you have set your Display Settings to Large fonts or Small fonts can also have an effect on size of fonts on-screen.
