Shortcut keys and tabbed movement

You can navigate through the windows and pages of Sage Corporation Tax using the keyboard instead of the mouse.

Key Combination Description
Esc Cancel or Close a window.
Enter Select the item that has focus on screen.
Up Arrow Move focus upwards through the elements on screen.
Down Arrow Move focus downwards through the elements on screen.
Left Arrow
  • Move focus leftwards through the elements on screen.
  • Expand or Collapse elements like nodes on a navigator.
Right Arrow
  • Move focus rightwards through the elements on screen.
  • Expand or Collapse elements like nodes on a navigator.
TAB Move to the next editable field or button.
SHIFT + TAB Move back to the previously editable field.
Control + C Copy an element on screen to the clipboard. For example, some selected text or values in a data entry window.
Control + V Paste the contents of the clipboard into an element on screen.
  • After first clicking on an item in the navigator, pressing the first letter of an item on the navigator takes you to the next item beginning with that letter. Clicking F3 will also move you to the next item beginning with this letter.
  • To move quickly to an item on a window, use its accelerator key. Accelerator keys are key combinations that are formed from pressing the Alt key and another key. This other key is the underlined character in the label for the box or item you want to navigate to.
  • Where there is more than one box on a window with the same underline character, press Alt + (underlined character) repeatedly until the box you want has focus.
