Tasks Administrator Views

View for: selecting either User or Client from these options will display either all tasks for a User, or for a Client.

User - On selecting this option the view will default to displaying tasks for the current user. However, you can change the user to show tasks for by clicking the magnifying glass button. This will display the list of Users from which you can select any name. Once selected the User's name will appear at the top of the Tasks Administrator screen and all tasks for that User will be displayed.

Client - On selecting this option the view will default to displaying tasks for the currently selected client. However, you can change the client to show tasks for by clicking the magnifying glass button. This will display the Client list from which you can select any name. Once selected the Client's name will appear at the top of the Tasks Administrator screen and all tasks for that client will be displayed.

Once a client or user is selected, all the tasks assigned to that person will be displayed. The following information will be included:

Client - The client the task is linked to, if applicable.

Subject - Displays the subject of the task. This is specified by the sender.

Date - The date on which the task was sent. The most recent tasks are displayed at the top of the list.

Progress - Indicates the progress you have made in acting upon the contents of the tasks. The progress can be set to one of the following statuses:

  • New
  • In Progress
  • Deferred
  • Completed

 

You can change the status by opening the task (either by highlighting and selecting Edit, or by double-clicking on a task) and choosing a new status from the drop down list.

The colour of the entry for the task in the list indicates the following:

  • regular black - a task that is due in six days or above.
  • bold black - a task that is due in 5 days or less
  • bold and orange - a task that is due on the current date
  • bold and red - a task that is overdue
  • grey with strikeout - a task that is completed.

 

The content of the highlighted task is displayed below the list. You cannot edit the text.

Pressing the F5 key refreshes the Tasks Administrator window. Any tasks that have been received since the window was first opened are displayed.
