Restore

Before you begin

  • Make sure all of your users have logged out of Sage Taxation.
  • You will need to contact Sage Software Support to obtain a password to restore. If you plan to do the restore outside of Sage support hours, you can contact them in advance.

To restore your Taxation database

Restoring a database will overwrite all of your existing Taxation data. It should only be carried out by your System Administrator.

  1. From the Start menu, choose Programs > Sage > Sage Taxation > Sage Toolbox > Backup and Restore. The Backup and Restore window appears.
  2. Click Restore. A confirmation window appears.
  3. Click Yes. A window appears prompting you for the backup to restore. The most recent backup created will be selected.
  4. Use the drop-down list to change the backup to restore. Click OK.

Tip: You can type the location of the backup file rather than choosing from the drop-down list. The backup file needs to be in a location visible to the computer running MSDE or SQL Server.

  5. You will be prompted for the Support password. Please get in touch.
  6. Type the password in the box on screen.
  7. Click OK to start the Restore.
  8. You will receive a prompt when the restore is complete.
