Remove a Type of Data from a Report

You can modify the report so that some types of information are not displayed for the client. This is achieved by deleting a data fieldelement from the report in the Report Designer. In the final report, the information that the data field represented no longer appears.

  1. Click the Reports button on the Toolbar to open the Report Generator. Select the report that you want to modify from the list then select the Modify option. Select the OK button.
  2. In the Report Designer you will see a row of labels that display the column headings. Below each of these labels is a data field element corresponding to that heading.
  3. Select the data field.

  1. All data fields are located in the Details band of the report. Leave the mouse pointer over a band for a few seconds and the name of that band appears under the pointer. Each data field is identified by a piece of text which describes the type of information it represents.
  2. Press the Deletekey.
  3. You will also need to delete the column heading label for this type of information. This is usually located above the data field, in the Column Header band.

Tips

  • To get help on any of the windows in the Report Generator, press the F1key.
  • You cannot overwrite any of the pre-designed reports once you have modified them. You can save the modified report under a new name.
  • You can delete more than one element simultaneously by selecting multiple elements instead of a single one.
