Change the Alignment of Text
Align an element in it's frame
Each element has a frame around it which can be visible or invisible. This frame indicates the rectangular area occupied by the whole element. The size of the frame is shown by the eight small squares which appear around the element when it is selected. The text displayed by the element can be aligned within it's frame either to the left or right side or in the centre. If you align the contents of a data field with the left side if it's frame, for example, every instance of the data in the final report will be aligned in the same position.
- Select one of these buttons:
- Align with the left side of the frame.
- Align in the centre of the frame.
- Align with the right side of the frame.
Centre an element in its band
You can place an element so that it is centred horizontally and/or vertically inside it's band.
- Select the element.
- From the Edit menu, select Center on band.
- From the sub-menu select Horizontal or Vertical as required.
