Generate Letters Using a Different Word Processor
If you do not have Microsoft Word, you cannot automatically generate letters with clients' details, such as name and address, inserted into each one. Instead, the Letter Generator will produce a merge file containing the fields that you specify, for the clients that you select. You can then use this merge file to insert client data into a letter that you create using a different word processor.
- Select the Letters icon from the toolbar to open the Letter Generator.
- Click on the letter type that you wish to generate and select the OK button.
- You must now select the clients for whom you wish to generate this letter. There are four ways in which you can do this:
- select clients from a list
- generate a letter for the client who is currently selected in the Client List in the Client Navigator
- generate letters for all clients who are included in a specified report
You can view the properties for any letter type by clicking on the letter
typ with the select mouse button, then selecting the button
on the toolbar in the Select Letter window. This will show you which client types the letter type is
applicable to and which fields will be included in the letter.
If the letter is a User letter type, you can change these properties.
If the letter is a User
letter type, you can delete it by selecting it in the Select
Letter window then selecting the button on the
toolbar.
