Complete the Create New Letter Wizard for Letter Types Created for Use with Word
The Create New Letter wizard will guide you through the process of creating a new letter type. At the end of the wizard, Microsoft Word will launch automatically to allow you to design the template for the letter.
- Select the Next> button on the first page of the wizard.
- Indicate which client types this letter type will apply to by ticking the appropriate boxes. You must tick at least one box. Select the Next button to continue.
- Enter a unique name for this letter type. A list of existing letter type names is displayed. Select the Next> button to continue.
- Select the fields that you wish to include in letters of this type by ticking the appropriate boxes. You will only be able to insert the fields that you select here into the letter template. You must select at least two fields. Select the Next> button to continue.
- If you have more than one version of Word installed on your computer, select the one you wish to use to create this letter type. You will need to use the same version to generate letters of this type in future.
- Ensure that the Use Microsoft Word to design the letter tick box is ticked.
- A default template name is supplied in the Name box. It is not necessary for you to change this unless you have a specific reason for doing so. Select the Next> button.
Note: This is the only time that you are allowed to change the template filename. Do not change the name after you have finished the wizard.
- Select the Finish button to complete the wizard.
