Chargeable Accounting Periods
For Companies, accounting periods have associated Chargeable Accounting Periods.
When you create an accounting period for a company, the software will automatically create the associated chargeable accounting periods:
- If the accounting period is up to 12 months long, one chargeable accounting period will be created.
- If it is over 12 months long, two chargeable accounting periods will be created by default; the first 12 months long, and the second for the remainder of the accounting period.
Within the Accounting Periods window, the accounting periods show before
the Accounting Period information to indicate that a Chargeable Accounting
Period (CAP) is present. Expanding the accounting period shows the related
CAP. You can view this information in a number of ways:
- Using the mouse. Either double-click on the
Accounting Period title, or single click on
next to the title. The chargeable accounting periods will be displayed.
- Using the keyboard. When the screen is opened the most recent (top) accounting period will be highlighted. Use the up and down arrow keys to select the accounting period you require. Once selected, use the right arrow key to expand the information to show the chargeable accounting periods and the left arrow key to contract the information.
These chargeable accounting periods can then be edited by selecting the accounting period in the Accounting Periods window and clicking Edit.
