Designing Reports
The Control Centre Report Generator has a number of pre-designed report types. The type of report determines which clients will be included i.e. whether all clients from a certain Sage Taxation system or all those with certain dates are included in the report. Each report type has one pre-designed layout, which determines which fields from the client's data are included. i.e. whether the clients code, billing code, telephone number are included.
Whilst you may never need to use any other report other than those generated from the pre-designed layouts, you may at some point wish to change what types of data are included in a report for each client or change how the information is presented. You can:
- redesign the report according to your requirements using the Report Designer
- add text to the report
- change the fonts or colours that are used
You cannot overwrite the pre-designed reports, since these are read only. They cannot be modified or deleted. If you change the design of a pre-designed report, you must save it under a different name.
Also, you cannot add your own report types i.e. you cannot change the criteria by which clients are selected for the report. You can only produce a different layout for one of the pre-designed report types. For this reason, you cannot add a completely new report. You must edit the design of an existing report and save it under a new name.
