Add and manage contacts

Using the contact record

A contact record

With a contact open there are a number of options available.

Add a contact

  1. Select the Contacts tab.

  2. Select Add contact from the contact list menu.

  3. Choose a contact type.

  4. Fill in the necessary fields for your contact. These will differ depending on the contact type you've selected.

  5. Work through the wizard, selecting Next when you've completed each page.

  6. Select Save.

Turn a contact into a client or prospect

If you have a contact that you need to do work for, like their bookkeeping or tax affairs, you will need to convert them into a client. This will allow you to add products like Accounting or Personal Tax to them.

You may also have a contact who is a potential client, in this case you can convert them into a prospect.

Once converted, any relationships you've already established with other clients will be retained.

  1. From the contact list, select the client you want to convert.

  2. Select Convert contact to client or Convert contact to prospect.

  3. You'll see a message letting you know what happens next.

    Select Convert.

    Select Convert to confirm that you want to convert the contact to a client

All existing relationships will remain.
