How can I export my data from Accounting?

This explains how to export your data from Sage Accounting. Select the relevant data you would like to export from the options below to see the steps required. If you are exporting data to be transferred to another application, we recommend exporting CSV files.

Export your customers, suppliers, products and service records

To export your customers, suppliers, products and service records as a CSV or PDF file, you need to go to the relevant area of Accounting and export each area separately.

For example, to export customers:

  1. Go to Contacts, then click Customers.

At the bottom of the window, you can specify how many records you want to appear on the page in the Show XX records list.


If you have more than one page of contacts, you can use the arrow buttons to navigate between these pages.
  1. To select all customers that appear on this page, select the tick box at the top left of the heading. Alternatively, you can select the tick box next to each customer you want to export.
  1. If you have more than one page of contacts, navigate to each page then repeat step 2.
  2. Once you’ve selected the relevant customers you want to export; from the action toolbar, click the CSV or PDF button.

Depending on your internet browser, the file either downloads automatically to your Downloads folder or you’re prompted to save the file.

  1. If prompted, browse to where you want to save the file then click Save.

Export your bank transactions

If you would like to export your bank transactions as a CSV or PDF file, the below steps explain how you can do this.

  1. Click on the Banking tab and select the relevant bank account.

At the bottom of the window, you can specify how many records you want to appear on the page in the Show XX records list.


If you have more than one page of transactions, you can use the arrow buttons to navigate between these pages.
  1. To select all transactions that appear on this page, select the tick box that is in the top left hand side of the Activity section. Alternatively, you can select the tick box next to each individual transaction you want to export.
  2. If you have more than one page of transactions, navigate to each page then repeat step 2.
  3. Once you’ve selected the relevant transactions you want to export; from the action toolbar, click the CSV or PDF button.
    Depending on your internet browser, the file either downloads automatically to your Downloads folder or you’re prompted to save the file.
  4. If prompted, browse to where you want to save the file then click Save.
